## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT HAD PREVIOUSLY DEPARTED FROM CNB AT APPROXIMATELY 17.55 CDT WITH A LOAD OF COVER CROP SEED. AT APPROXIMATELY 19:05 CDT THE PILOT RETURNED TO CNB TO RELOAD TO FINISH SPRAYING. WHILE LANDING, UPON THE TAIL WHEEL TOUCHING DOWN THE AIRCRAFT MADE AN IMMEDIATE TURN TO THE RIGHT. THE PILOT COULD NOT STOP THE TURN AND THE AIRCRAFT GROUND LOOPED. THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR WAS BROKEN OFF AND THE LEFT WING CONTACTED THE GROUND, CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AFT WING SPAR.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN22LA427](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN22LA427), Sep 12, 2022: Cessna A188A (N2122U), Canby, MN, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain airplane control during the landing, which resulted in an overload failure of the tailwheel cross tube and subsequent impact with the runway.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
