## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

UAS REGISTRATION^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

DJI MATRICE M600 PRO

SERIAL # M80DHAGR03LWMR

REMOTE PILOT CERTIFICATE^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

FREQENCY UTILIZED: 2.4GHZ

DURING A TRAINING FLIGHT, THE REMOTE PILOT IN COMMAND (RPIC) WAS OBSERVING AS A TRAINEE PILOT (NOT YET PART 107) AS HE FLEW A DJI MATRICE M600 PRO OVER AND AROUND A PARKING LOT. AS THE UAS BEGAN WARNING OF LOW BATTERY, THE TRAINEE PILOT LANDED THE AIRCRAFT ON THE EDGE OF THE DESIGNATED LANDING AREA. THE M600 WAS ON THE GROUND, WITH THE MOTORS STILL RUNNING. THE TRAINEE PILOT, WITHOUT NOTICE TO THE RPIC, ATTEMPTED TO SHUT DOWN THE UAS BY PULLING BOTH CONTROL STICKS ON THE REMOTE CONTROLLER DOWN AND TOWARD THE CENTER. THIS CAUSED THE M600 TO TILT TO THE RIGHT, WHILE STILL ON THE GROUND, AND IT TOPPLED OVER TO THE RIGHT. AS IT FELL, THE PROPELLERS IMPACTED THE FRONT BUMPER ON A NEARBY CAR (OWNED BY AN AGENCY EMPLOYEE), AND CAUSED FINISH DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE BEFORE THE RPIC GAINED CONTROL OF THE REMOTE CONTROLLER AND SHUT DOWN THE MOTORS. IT APPEARS THAT THE REPAIR COSTS TO THE VEHICLE WILL EXCEED $500. DAMAGE TO THE UAS WAS LIMITED TO THE BREAKAGE OF PROPELLERS AND BREAKAGE OF ONE FRAME ARM. NO ONE WAS INJURED AND NO PERSONNEL WERE IN THE LANDING AREA.

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
