## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ATC TOWER DIRECTED PILOT TO ENTER LEFT BASE FOR LANDING RWY24 AT BOWMAN FIELD AIRPORT. PILOT STARTED EXECUTING LANDING CHECKLIST WHEN TOWER CALLED TO ASK WHEN HE WAS TURNING FINAL BEFORE HE COMPLETED THE "GEAR DOWN" ITEM OF THE CHECKLIST. THE LOW-TIME PILOT THOUGHT HE HAD MADE A MISTAKE SO HE BECAME ANXIOUS AND NERVOUS. HE CONTINUED APPROACH BUT NEVER WENT BACK TO HIS LANDING CHECKLIST BEFORE LANDING, SO THE LANDING GEAR WAS NEVER PUT IN THE DOWN AND LOCKED POSITION, RESULTING IN A GEAR-UP LANDING. THERE WAS MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND NO INJURIES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
