## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT IN COMMAND (PIC) STATED THAT HE PERFORMED A VISUAL INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT PRIOR TO MOVING IT OUT OF THE HANGAR. BRAKES WERE ALSO INSPECTED BY "PRESSING ON THE PEDALS AND THEY APPEARED NORMAL." AIRCRAFT WAS POSITIONED AT A 60 DEGREE ANGLE BETWEEN HANGARS. PIC ALSO STATED THAT HE FOLLOWED THE CHECKLIST DURING STARTUP. HOWEVER, THE CHECK LIST CALLS FOR ¼" THROTTLE. DURING STARTUP, HIGH ENGINE RPM CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO MOVE FORWARD AND PIC DID NOT REACT IN TIME TO APPLY BRAKES. THE LEFT WINGTIP OF THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK THE HANGAR WALLS. APPROXIMATELY 25 FEET LATER, THE AIRCRAFT TURNED LEFT INTO A HANGAR DOOR. THE FRONT OF THE AIRCRAFT WENT THROUGH THE HANGAR WALL.

DURING INVESTIGATION, NO EVIDENCE OF BRAKE FAILURE WAS DETECTED.

PILOT ADMITTED TO EXCESSIVE THROTTLE AT STARTUP FOLLOWED BY SLOW REACTION TIME.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
