## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED HE LANDED ROUGHLY HALF-WAY DOWN THE RUNWAY (3000 FOOT RUNWAY) BUT COULD NOT BE SURE IF HE ACTUALLY TOUCHED DOWN OR A VISUAL REFERENCE TO THE HALF-WAY POINT. PILOT STATED HIS ROLL-OUT WAS FASTER THAN ANTICIPATED DUE TO STRONG TAIL WIND. PILOT STATED HIS APPLICATION OF BRAKES DID NOT STOP THE AIRCRAFT IN TIME PRIOR TORUNNING OFF THE RUNWAY, THROUGH THE GRASS AREA THEN IMPACTING A FENCE AT THE AIRPORT'S PERIMETER. THE AICRAFT CAME TO REST AT THE FENCE LINE SUSTAINING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR22LA356](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR22LA356), Sep 26, 2022: Cessna 172M (N12113), Superior, MT, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s excessive airspeed during a landing, which resulted in a runway overrun and collision with terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
