## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 09/26/2022, I WAS NOTIFIED BY THE ROC THAT AN AIRCRAFT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, CE-414, LANDING ON RUNWAY 35, AT AUGUSTA, GEORGIA, (KAGS), AT 1326 (UTC), THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSE ON LANDING. TOWER HAD THE AIRCRAFT JACKED AND REMOVED FROM BLOCKING THE RUNWAY. THERE WERE NO REPORTED INJURIES AND ONLY REPORTED DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

PILOT STATED: “WAS ON APPROACH WHEN GEAR LIGHT INDICATED NOT LOCKED. DID A GO –AROUND AND GOT GOOD INDICATION THAT ALL GEAR WAS DOWN AND LOCKED. TOWER INDICATED THEY SAW THE GEAR DOWN. WHEN I LANDED AND THE AIRPLANE NOSE GEAR MADE CONTACT WITH THE RUNWAY, THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED.”

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA22LA434](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA22LA434), Sep 26, 2022: Cessna 414 (N745EP), Augusta, GA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The failure of the nose landing gear to fully extend and lock into position for reasons that could not be determined, which resulted in its collapse during landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
