## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 10/02/2022 THE PILOT OF ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ EXECUTED AN OFF-AIRPORT PRECAUTIONARY LANDING WHILE ON ARRIVAL DESCENT TO THE VERMILION REGIONAL AIRPORT (KDNV) IN DANVILLE, IL ON A CROSS-COUNTRY FLIGHT FROM THE MARION COUNTY REGIONAL AIRPORT (KFLP) IN FLIPPIN, AR. DURING THE LANDING ROLLOUT THE AIRPLANE WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED AFTER THE PILOT LOST CONTROL AND THE AIRPLANE GROUND LOOPED AND CAME TO A STOP.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN23LA002](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN23LA002), Oct 2, 2022: Champion 7KCAB (N869TT), Danville, IL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot decision to perform a precautionary landing to a field with obstacles which resulted in a ground loop. Contributing was the pilot’s inadequate fuel planning.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
