## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON OCTOBER 9, 2022, AT 0942 CDT, A CESSNA 172F BEARING ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ LANDED IN A FIELD APPROXIMATELY 1/2 MILE OF DEPARTURE END. THE AIRCRAFT WAS BEING OPERATED ON A PERSONAL FLIGHT. VISUAL METEROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME, AND A VFR FLIGHT PLAN WAS FILED. THE AIRCRAFT SUFFERED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE COWLING AND STABILIZER. THE CERTIFICATED PRIVATE PILOT AND PASSENGER WERE NOT INJURED. THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED FROM ALPINE-CASPARIS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT (E38) ALPINE, TX ON OCTOBER 9,2022 AT 0940 CDT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
