THE PILOT IN COMMAND WAS A STUDENT PILOT AND WAS FLYING THEIR FIRST SOLO FLIGHT. UPON LANDING, THE MAIN WHEELS CONTACTED THE RUNWAY, THE AIRCRAFT BRIEFLY HOPPED, THE MAIN WHEELS TOUCHED AGAIN, AND THE AIRCRAFT VEERED TO THE LEFT AND EXITED THE RUNWAY ONTO THE GRASS OUTFIELD. THE AIRCRAFT NOSE LANDING GEAR SEPARATED FROM THE AIRCRAFT AND THE AIRCRAFT STOPPED APPROXIMATELY 322 FEET NORTH OF THE RUNWAY CENTERLINE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA23LA019](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA23LA019), Oct 14, 2022: Gulfstream American AA-5A (N26944), Knoxville, TN, substantial damage. Probable cause: The student pilot’s loss of directional control on landing.
