## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON FINAL TO CARMI RUNWAY 36, AIRCRAFT ENCOUNTERED GUSTY WINDS OF CHANGING DIRECTION. AIRCRAFT LOST ALTITUDE OVER RUNWAY AND PROPELLER IMPACTED RUNWAY AND DRIFTED OFF OF RUNWAY. PILOT ATTEMPTED TO GO AROUND BUT AIRCRAFT LACKED THE POWER TO GO AROUND AND ENDED UP OFF THE END OF THE RUNWAY IN A HARVESTED CORN FIELD. WEATHER IN CARMI ON 10-17-2022 AS SHOWN ON AVIATIONWEATHER.GOV SHOWS THE WEATHER AS CLEAR AND WINDS FROM THE WNW AT 21 MPH GUSTING TO 29 AT 14:35 CDT AND 18 GUSTING TO 29 AT 15:12 CDT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
