## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT SAID IT WAS A MORNING FLIGHT AROUND 9, BEAUTIFUL DAY WITH AN OAT OF 65 DEGREES, AND HE FLEW FOR ABOUT AN HOUR WHERE HE WAS PRACTICING MANEUVERS. THE EVENT HAPPENED ON HIS ONLY LANDING, WHICH HE SAID HE MADE A 3 POINT LANDING, BUT AFTER TOUCH DOWN HE GOT A LITTLE FLOAT, WHICH HE HAD EXPERIENCED BEFORE, SO HE KEPT THE NOSE UP TO BLEED OFF SPEED. ONCE HE TOUCHED DOWN AGAIN THE RIGHT WING IMMEDIATELY WENT UP ~ 30 DEGREES AND HE STARTED GOING LEFT. HE ATTEMPTED TO BRING IN POWER TO GO AROUND, BUT BY THAT TIME THE LH WING AND PROP HIT THE GROUND AND HE WAS SLUNG 180 DEGREES INTO THE DITCH. THE RIGHT GEAR WAS REMOVED FROM THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT WAS COUNSELED BY ASI ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ON DECEMBER 14,2022, ON THE RISKS OF LOSS OF CONTROL IN TAILWHEEL AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR23LA021](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR23LA021), Oct 20, 2022: Cessna 140 (N55DC), Georgetown, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain control during an attempted go-around, which resulted in a runway excursion and a separation of the right main landing gear.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
