## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT FLYING ON A SOLO CROSS COUNTRY, WAS COMING BACK TO HIS HOME FIELD OF AUBURN (S50). APPROXIMATLEY 10 MINUTES FROM HIS DESTINATION, THE ENGINE QUIT FROM FUEL STARVATION, EMPTY TANKS. THE AIRCRAFT LACKED ADEQUATE FUEL TO FLY FROM THE DEPARTURE AIRPORT TO THE DESTINATION. THE PILOT MADE AN OFF-AIRPORT LANDING IN A FIELD. THE NOSE GEAR DUG INTO THE SOFT SURFACE CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO FLIP OVER. PILOT SUSTAINED NO INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)
