## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON NOVEMBER 3, 2022 AT APPROXIMATELY 2100 ZULU, IN BLOOMINGTON, INDIANA, A BALLOON PILOT STARTED TO LIFT OFF IN THE BALLOON WHEN A GUST OF WIND CAUSED THE BALLOON AND BASKET TO DRIFT. THE BALLOON CONTACTED HIGH TENSION POWERLINES. THE BALLOON DEFLATED. THE BASKET REMAINED UPRIGHT THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE EVENT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE PILOT OR THE TWO PASSENGERS AND ONLY MINOR DAMAGE TO THE BALLOON. POWER TO NEARBY BUILDINGS WAS OUT FOR A SHORT TIME WHILE ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ RETRIEVED THE BALLOON.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
