## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON NOVEMBER 5TH, 2022, A STUDENT PILOT WAS PRACTICING FULL STOP LANDINGS ON RUNWAY 28R AT MYF AIRPORT IN SAN DIEGO, CA. THE STUDENT PILOT WAS FLYING SOLO IN A CIRRUS SR-20. WHILE ON A ONE MILE FINAL FOR A FULL STOP LANDING THE STUDENT PILOT RADIO ATC WITH A TRIM RUNAWAY EMERGENCY BUT HE DID NOT IDENTIFY HIMSELF BY N NUMBER. ATC INSTRUCTED THE STUDENT PILOT TO GO AROUND DUE TO A DEPARTING AIRCRAFT ON RUNWAY 28R. THE STUDENT PILOT RADIO ATC THAT HE CAN'T (GO AROUND) BUT AGAIN DID NOT IDENTIFY HIMSELF BY N NUMBER. THE STUDENT PILOT CONTINUED TO FLY RUNWAY HEADING AT A VERY HIGH SPEED UNTIL HE LOST CONTROL AND IMPACTED THE GROUND ABOUT 580' FROM THE DEPARTURE END OF RUNWAY 28R.

THE STUDENT PILOT HAD COMPLETED THREE UNEVENTFUL FULL STOP LANDINGS PRIOR TO THE ACCIDENT FLIGHT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR23FA027](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR23FA027), Nov 5, 2022: Cirrus Design SR20 (N700YZ), San Diego, CA, substantial damage, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The student pilot’s exceedance of the critical angle of attack during a go-around, resulting in an aerodynamic stall and impact with terrain following a non-stabilized approach to land.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
