## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AFTER RECIEVING THEIR CLEARANCE TO TAXI THEY REALIZED THAT THE CHOCKS WERE NEVER REMOVED FROM THE NOSEWHEEL. WITHOUT SHUTTING DOWN THE ENGINE THE INSTRUCTOR EXITED THE AIRPLANE AND REMOVED THE CHOCKS. SHE THEN GAVE THE STUDENT THE "THUMBS UP" TO INDICATE THAT CHOCKS HAVE BEEN REMOVE AND IT WAS AT THAT TIME HER HAND WAS STRUCK BY THE PROPELLER RESULTING IN THE LOSS OF MULTIPLE FINGERS. THE RIGHTSIDE OF HER HIP WAS ALSO STRUCK WHICH RESULTED IN A LARGE CUT REQUIRING STITCHES. THE STUDENT WITNESSED THE EVENT AND IMMEDIATLY SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE AND CALLED THE FBO FOR WHO THEN DISPATCHED AIRPORT OPERATIONS WHERE THEY PROVIDED HELP TO THE INSTRUCTOR UNTIL MEDICAL PERSONNEL ARRIVED.
