## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON NOVEMBER 16, 2022 AT APPROXIMATELY 1250 MST AIRCRAFT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ LANDED WITH THE LANDING GEAR IN THE RETRACTED POSITION ON RWY 36 AT LAA DURING A PART 91 PERSONAL FLIGHT ORIGINATING FROM COS. THE PILOT THOUGHT HE RAN HIS GUMPS (GAS, UNDERCARRIAGE, MIXTURE, PROPELLER, SWITCHES AND SEAT BELTS) CHECKLIST, BUT IN HINDSIGHT, ADMITTED HE FAILED TO DO SO EFFECTIVELY AND ADDED THAT THE JOHNSON BAR STYLE LANDING GEAR HANDLE WAS NOT IN THE EXTENDED POSITION. HE IS CONFIDENT THERE WASN’T A MECHANICAL FAILURE AND NO RELATED MAINTENANCE WAS PERFORMED ON THE AIRCRAFT PRIOR TO THE FLIGHT.

THERE WERE NO PASSENGERS ONBOARD AND THE PILOT WAS NOT INJURED. THERE WAS DAMAGE TO BOTH PROP TIPS, THE BOTTOM OF THE FUSELAGE WAS SCUFFED AND THE RH STEP WAS ALSO DAMAGED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS REMOVED FROM THE RUNWAY AND IS CURRENTLY AWAITING REPAIRS. THE NTSB HAS CLASSIFIED THIS AS AN INCIDENT WITH "LESS THAN SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE".

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
