## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 11/19/22 AT 5:00 PM EST, A 14 CFR PART 141 CERTIFICATED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR WAS LANDING ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, A PA28R-200, AT DELAWARE AIRPARK (33N) ACCOMPANIED BY A PART 141 CHECK INSTRUCTOR CONDUCTING A STANDARDIZATION RIDE IN ACCORDANCE WITH PART 141.79. THE PILOT-IN-COMMAND WAS THE INSTRUCTOR PERFORMING ALL MANUEVERS DURING THE EVALUATION.

AFTER COMPLETING A FULL-STOP LANDING, THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED FOR A CLOSED-PATTERN SHORT FIELD LANDING DURING DUSK CONDITIONS AT WHICH TIME BOTH PILOTS STATED THEY BECAME DISTRACTED BY POSSIBLE DEER ON THE FIELD AND OTHER AIRCRAFT OPERATING IN THE PATTERN. AS THE AIRCRAFT APPROACHED THE RUNWAY, THE CHECK INSTRUCTOR WAS FOCUSING ON A SLOWER THAN NORMAL APPROACH SPEED, AND AS THE AIRCRAFT SETTLED, THE PROPELLER BLADES, WING STEP AND TAIL TIE DOWN RING STRUCK THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT-IN-COMMAND APPLIED FULL THROTTLE EXECUTING A GO-AROUND AND THE AIRCRAFT RETURNED FOR LANDING WITH THE GEAR EXTENDED BY THE PILOT-IN-COMMAND WITH MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
