## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT AND HIS PASSENGER DEPARTED CPS AIRPORT (ST. LOUIS) AT APPROXIMATELY 6:27 A.M. CENTRAL TIME FOR A FLIGHT TO INT (WINSTON-SALEM, NC). ENROUTE THE FLIGHT DIVERTED TO LOZ (LONDON-CORBIN, KY) AT 9:12 A.M. EASTERN TIME. DURING THE APPROACH AT LOZ THE AIRCRAFT PERFORMED A GO-AROUND DUE TO A REPORTED LANDING GEAR INDICATION ISSUE BEFORE LANDING SAFELY. THE AIRCRAFT REFUELED AT LOZ AND DEPARTED AT 10:05 A.M. EASTERN TIME TO INT.

UPON ARRIVAL AT INT, THE PILOT REPORTED TO ATC THAT HE HAD ONE ENGINE 'RUNNING SLOWER THAN THE OTHER' BUT IT WAS NOT A CONCERN. HE WAS CLEARED FOR A LEFT BASE ENTRY FOR LANDING ON RUNWAY 4. THE PILOT FLEW THROUGH THE LEFT BASE FOR RUNWAY 4 AND REQUESTED A LEFT BASE FOR RUNWAY 33. ATC CLEARED HIM FOR A LEFT BASE ENTRY FOR RUNWAY 33 AND THE PILOT FLEW THROUGH BASE AGAIN. THE PILOT THEN REQUESTED A RIGHT 360 FOR RUNWAY 33 AND ATC CLEARED HIM FOR THAT TURN. COMMUNICATION WAS LOST WITH THE AIRCRAFT AT THAT TIME.

THE AIRCRAFT WRECKAGE WAS FOUND IN A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD NEAR THE APPROACH PATH FOR RUNWAY 33 AT INT. EVIDENCE AT THE SCENE INDICATES THAT THE RIGHT ENGINE WAS NOT PRODUCING POWER AT THE TIME OF IMPACT.

WITNESSES IN THE AREA REPORT SEEING THE AIRCRAFT 'ROLL OVER' PRIOR TO CRASHING STRAIGHT INTO THE GROUND.

AIRCRAFT FUEL SELECTOR FOR THE RIGHT ENGINE WAS FOUND PAST THE DETENT FOR THE OUTBOARD TANK.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

Probable cause: Contamination and/or misalignment of the regulator section of the right engine’s fuel servo, which resulted in excessive idle fuel flow and a total loss of engine power. Also causal was the pilot's…
