## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AT APPROXIMATELY 545PM ON THURSDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2022, PILOT/OWNER WAS PILOTING AN A36 BONANZA, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, WITH ONE PASSENGER ON BOARD. THEY WERE LANDING ON RUNWAY 1 IN FLORENCE SC (FLO). IT WAS DARK. ALMOST AS SOON AS THEY TOUCHED DOWN, PILOT NOTICED WHAT APPEARED TO BE A LARGE DEER CROSS THE RUNWAY FROM LEFT TO RIGHT. PILOT STATED TO PASSENGER, “WOW, THAT WAS CLOSE, WE ALMOST HIT A DEER”.

IMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE PILOTS STATEMENT TO PASSENGER, A SECOND DEER CROSSED FROM LEFT TO RIGHT AND WAS HIT BY THE AIRCRAFT PROPELLOR. PILOT IMMEDIATELY NOTIFIED THE TOWER OF THE OCCURENCE AND WAS ASKED BY THE TOWER IF ANY ASSISTANCE WAS NEEDED. THE PILOT TOOK A MOMENT TO COLLECT HIMSELF AND IT APPEARED THAT THE PLANE WAS FINE AS PILOT DID NOT NOTICE ANY VIBRATIONS IN THE PROP, NO FLAT TIRES, NO FIRE OR ANYTHING OF THAT NATURE.

PILOT NOTIFIED TOWER THAT HE AND PASSENGER APPEARED TO BE OK AND THAT THEY WOULD TAXI TO OWNERS' AIRCRAFT HANGAR. THE AIRPORT FIRE TRUCK MET THE AIRCRAFT UPON ARRIVAL TO THE HANGER AND ASKED SIMILAR QUESTIONS TO MAKE SURE THEY WERE OK AND TOOK THE PILOTS PERSONAL INFORMATION. UPON EXITING THE AIRCRAFT, PILOT NOTICED THE DAMAGE, AND TOOK SEVERAL PHOTOGRAPHS. DAMAGE WAS MINOR TO AIRCRAFT NOSE LANDING GEAR LANDING LIGHT HOUSING, AND RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR DOOR.

PILOT CALLED THE TOWER ON THE PHONE AND REASSURED THEM ONCE AGAIN THAT THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND THAT HE WAS ASSESSING THE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

PILOT FORWRDED PHOTOS TAKEN ON THE EVENING OF INCIDENT, TO ASSIGNED FAA INSPECTOR (FILING THIS REPORT) ON 12/02/2022.

## Other reports on N345CR (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 20181126022899I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/20181126022899I), Nov 26, 2018: Beech A36 (N345CR), Rock Hill, SC, Minor damage. Pilot failed to extend landing gear prior to landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
