## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT MADE AN OFF-AIRPORT EMERGENCY LANDING INTO AN OPEN FIELD DUE TO A BIRD STRIKE THAT INGRESSED THROUGH THE LOWER PORTION OF THE LEFT SIDE WINDSCREEN WHILE ENROUTE TO REDDING, CA. THE BIRD STRIKE MADE A HOLE IN THE WINDSCREED NEAR THE PILOT'S LEGS. THE PILOT COMPLAINED OF A MINOR INJURY, BRUSE. NO OTHER INJURIES REPORTED.

DAMAGE TO THE WINDSCREEN EXCEEDED MANUFACTURER ALLOWANCE SINCE IT IS CONSIDERED A SECONDARY STRUCTURE. HELICOPTER AIR-LIFTED OUT OF THE FIELD AND PLACED ON A TRUCK FOR TRANSPORTATION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
