## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

BEFORE LANDING THE PILOT OVERFLEW THE RUNWAY TO CHECK THE CONDITIONS. THE PILOT HAS LANDED ON THIS RUNWAY UNDER SIMILAIR CONDITIONS SEVERAL TIMES. HAVING DETERMINED THAT THE RUNWAY CONDITIONS WERE ACCEPTABLE, THE PILOT SET UP FOR A NORMAL LANDING ON THE SNOW COVERED TURF AIRSTRIP. THE PILOT TOUCHED DOWN, THE AIRCRAFT SUNK INTO THE SNOW, ROLLED ABOUT 40 FT AND FLIPPED ONTO ITS BACK. WEATHER WAS CLEAR AND WIND WAS ABOUT 3 KNOTS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR23LA090](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR23LA090), Jan 16, 2023: Maule MX-7-160 (N30737), Minidoka, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain control during landing on a contaminated runway.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
