## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT LEFT PORT ST LUCIE, FLORIDA AND WAS ATTEMPTING TO STOP AT KEYSTONE HEIGHTS AIRPORT (42J) FOR FUEL BEFORE CONTINUING TO HIS FINAL DESTINATION OF NORTH CAROLINA. HE ADVISED THAT HIS GPS IN THE AIRCRAFT SHOWED HIM TO BE ARRIVING AT 42J AND HE STARTED TO LAND AND FLAIRED OUT THEN SUDDENLY OBSERVED SEVEAL COWS AND A DONKEY IN FRONT OF HIS LANDING PATH. HE HIT THE BRAKES AND FLIPPED THE AIRCRAFT ON ITS BACK. AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO THE VERTICAL STABILIZER, WINGS, STRUTS, AND WRINKLED THE FUSELAGE AS WELL AS BREAKING THE CARBURATOR OFF THE ENGINE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA23LA139](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA23LA139), Feb 15, 2023: Cessna 140 (N2419V), Keystone Heights, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s improper decision to perform an impromptu off-airport landing and his failure to maintain control of the airplane during the landing, which resulted in a nose-over.

## Other reports on N2419V (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19771019031079A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19771019031079A), Oct 19, 1977: Cessna 140 (N2419V), Ankeny, IA, Substantial damage

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
