## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT WAS DEPARTING RUNWAY 27, A 4,140 FT. RUNWAY, AT LINDEN AIRPORT (KLDJ). THE PILOT REPORTED THAT “AFTER ROTATION AT ABOUT 10-15 FEET ABOVE GROUND LEVEL, THE FRONT BAGGAGE DOOR FLEW OPEN. SINCE I WASN’T AT HALF FIELD YET, I CUT POWER AND LANDED.” A CAMERA MOUNTED ON AN AIRPORT STRUCTURE CAPTURED PART OF THE ABORTED TAKEOFF SEQUENCE. THE AIRPORT CAMERA RECORDED THE AIRCRAFT AIRBORNE AT THE MID-POINT OF THE RUNWAY, FLY LEVEL UNTIL ABOUT THE LAST THIRD OF THE RUNWAY, AND DESCEND TO THE RUNWAY SURFACE TOWARDS THE END OF THE RUNWAY. THE CAMERA DOES NOT SHOW THE EXACT POINT WHERE THE AIRPLANE LANDED. THE AIRPLANE SLID OFF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY AND CAME TO A STOP AT A BERM NEAR THE AIRPORT FENCE. THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED, AND THE LEFT MAIN GEAR SEVERED AT THE STRUT SHAFT. NO MECHANICAL DISCREPANCIES WERE REPORTED PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT.

THE REPORTED WEATHER WAS WIND 270 AT 5 KNOTS, VISIBILITY 5 MILES, MIST, WITH A CLEAR SKY.

Narrative: the pilot reported that a herd of deer ran across the runway as he was landing. At least one deer was hit, causing damage to the landing gear door…

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
