## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MARCH 2, 2023 AT APPROXIMATELY 1840 UTC, PILOT FLYING ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ DEPARTED RUNWAY 23 AT MADISONVILLE REGIONAL AIRPORT (2I0) ON A CROSS COUNTRY FLIGHT TO SPRINGFIELD, MO (KSGF). ACCORDING TO THE PILOTS STATEMENT, ON DEPARTURE, THE PILOT MADE AN INITIAL TURN TOWARD THE NORTHWEST CLIMBING AT APPROXIMATELY 400 FT/MIN. UPON REACHING 1800 MSL, THE PILOT NOTICED INSUFFICIENT ENGINE POWER TO CONTINUE THE CLIMB AND WAS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN ALTITUDE. THE PILOT OBSERVED TREES BELOW AND DETERMINED A RETURN TO THE AIRPORT WAS UNSAFE. THE PILOT FOLLOWED EMERGENCY PROCEDURES WITHOUT SUCCESSFULLY REGAINING ENGINE POWER. AS THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED TO LOSE ALTITUDE, THE PILOT CONTINUED STRAIGHT AHEAD, UNTIL FORCED TO LAND. PRIOR TO TOUCHING DOWN, THE PILOT NOTICED HIGH TENSION POWER LINES AND FLEW UNDERNEATH THEM AS THERE WAS INADEQUATE AIRSPEED TO FLY OVER. THE PILOT LANDED GEAR UP STRAIGHT AHEAD IN A FIELD PAST THE POWERLINES AND STOPPED WITHIN 300 FEET WINGS LEVEL. THERE WAS NO POST EVENT FIRE OR SUBSTANTIAL PROPERTY DAMAGE

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
