## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ IS A PIPER PA46-600TP, WITH A RETRACTABLE TRICYCLE LANDING GEAR, SINGLE ENGINE TURBOPROP. WHILE LANDING ON RUNWAY 29 OF THOMAS COUNTY AIRPORT (TIF), UPON TOUCHDOWN OF THE NOSE GEAR, THE PILOT REPORTED THAT THE AIRCRAFT HAD AN UNCOMMANDED RIGHT TURN. PILOT APPLIED LEFT RUDDER AND LEFT BRAKE. INITIAL 200 FEET OF NOSE GEAR TIRE SKID MARKS WERE NEARLY PARALLEL TO THE CENTERLINE OF THE RUNWAY. AS AIRSPEED DECREASED, THE AIRCRAFT PULLED HARDER TO THE RIGHT AND THE PILOT RESPONDED WITH AN INCREASE OF LEFT RUDDER AND LEFT BRAKE. APPROXAMATLY, 500 FEET AFTER NOSE GEAR TOUCH DOWN, THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR EXITED THE RUNWAY TO THE RIGHT APPROXAMATLY 100 FEET BEFORE THE TAXIWAY. THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED, UNCONCROLLED, FOR AN ADDITIONAL 600 FEET AND APPROXAMATE 305 DEGREE HEADING AND CAME TO REST 80 FEET RIGHT OF THE RUNWAY. POST ACCIDENT EXAMINATION OF ALL THREE TIRES REVEALED NO SUBSTATIAL WEAR MARKS OR FLAT SPOTS. POST ACCIDENT EXAMINATION OF ALL THREE WHEELS REVEALED NO RESTRICTIONS IN FREEDOM OF ROTATION. POST ACCIDENT EXAMINATION OF CONTINUITY OF THE NOSE GEAR STEERING SYSTEM COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. REVIEW OF AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE RECORDS REVEALED COMPLETION OF PIPER SL 1285 "PROPER TIRE PRESSURE MAINTENANCE" AND PIPER SL1286D "NOSE LANDING GEAR STEERING COMPONENTS INSPECTION AND ADJUSTMENT" ON AUGUST 1, 2022.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN23LA137](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN23LA137), Mar 4, 2023: Piper PA-46-600TP (N131HL), Thedford, NE, substantial damage, investigation ongoing

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
