## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

INSTRUCTOR AND STUDENT WERE DEPARTING THE RAMP WHEN THEY NOTICED ANOTHER PLANE ENTERING THEIR ROW ON THE RAMP. THEY CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND WERE WAITING FOR THE OTHER AIRPLAN TO PASS THEM SO THEY COULD CONTINIE. THE SECOND AIRPLANE DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH WING TIP CLEARANCE TO CLEAR THEIR AIRPLANE AS IT TAXIIED IN FRON TOF THEM, THEIR PROPELLER CAME INTO CONTACT WITH THE SECOND AIRPLANE CAUSING SUNSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE OTHER AIRPLANE. THE INSTRUCTOR WAS TRYING TO GET THE ATTENTION OF THE SECOND AIRPLNE TO GET HIM TO STOP BUT THE OTHER PILOT NEVER REACTED UNTIL THEY CAME INTO CONTACT.

BOTH AIRPLANES SHUT DOWN THEIR ENGINES IMMEDIATELY AFTER THEY CAM INTO CONTACT AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR23LA123](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR23LA123), Mar 7, 2023: Cessna 152 (N6460M), Hillsboro, OR, minor damage. Probable cause: The student pilot’s failure to see and avoid another airplane during taxi.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
