## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

3/17/2023 REMOTE PILOT WAS TESTING A USED DRONE BY SURVEYING THE ROOF OF A SMALL OFFICE BUILDING. DURING FLIGHT, SUDDEN LOSS OF GPS SIGNALS OCCURRED AND THE DRONE BEGAN A FLYAWAY TO THE EAST. MANUAL CONTROL COULD NOT BE RECOVERED AND "RETURN TO HOME" LANDING FUNCTIONS WOULD NOT RESPOND. PILOT TRACKED THE DRONE'S POSITION VIA CAMERA FEED AS IT FLEW OFF COURSE UNTIL SIGNAL WAS LOST, AS WHICH POINT, UAS AUTOMATICALLY BEGAN A CONTROLLED LANDING. PILOT ARRIVED AT THE LANDING SITE AND DISCOVERED THE UAS HAD COLLIDED WITH A VEHICLE. NO INJURIES WERE CASUED BY INCIDENT. VEHICLE INCURRED MILD COSMETIC DAMAGE, SCRATCHES AND SCUFFS TO HOOD LAND WINDSHIELD.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
