## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MARCH 19, 2023, A PILOT OF A EUROCOPTER DEUTSCHLAND GMB ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^MADE A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING IN A FIELD DUE TO THE CREW SMELLING SMOKE WHILE IN FLIGHT. THE DISPATCHED MECHANIC DISCOVERED AN AIR-CONDITION BELT HAD SHREDDED. THE MECHANIC REMOVED BELT REMNANTS. THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM WAS MADE INOPERABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MINIMUM EQUIPMENT LIST (MEL) AND PER AMC BK117C2 MEL. THE FLIGHT CREW PERFORMED AN OPERATIONAL CHECK OF THE AIRCRAFT. NO DEFECTS WERE NOTED AND COMPLETED THE FLIGHT WITHOUT FURTHER ISSUE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
