## Narrative

ON MARCH 19, 2023, AT 1510HRS CDT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ LANDED AT SPRINGDALE, AR (KASG) FROM TRAINING FLIGHT THAT INCLUDED SEVERAL GRASS FIELD TAKEOFF/LANDINGS AT A NEARBUY PRIVATE STRIP (MO00). AFTER TOUCHDOWN AND ON ROLL OUT, A/C VEERED LEFT UNEXPECTEDLY WITHOUT PILOT INPUT. PILOT APPLIED FULL RIGHT RUDDER; INSTRUCTOR APPLIED RIGHT BRAKE. A/C TURNED TO THE RIGHT. PILOT APPLIED HARD LEFT BRAKE. THE TAIL LIFTED, THE A/C NOSED OVER AND PROPELLER STRUCK THE GROUND DAMAGING PROPELLER, SPINNER AND COWLING. THERE WAS NO FORWARD AIRSPEED AND A/C TAIL WHEEL RETURNED TO THE GROUND.

WHILE PUSHING AIRCRAFT CLEAR OF RUNWAY GROUND CREW NOTICED RIGHT TAILWHEEL SPRING MISSING. A FOD CHECK OF THE RUNWAY WAS COMPLETED AND NO SPRING WAS FOUND. THE LACK OF THE RIGHT TAILWHEEL SPRING CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO BECOME UNCONTROLABLE AFTER LANDING.

## Other reports on N5190X (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19901007052889I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19901007052889I), Oct 7, 1990: Bbavia 7ECA (N5190X), Plymouth, NH, Minor damage. Right wheel struck a dirt bank on landing then bounced on to runway. Passenger injured.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
