## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 31 MARCH 2023, THE OPERATOR DEPARTED FRESNO YOSEMITE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (FAT) WITH A PLANNED FINAL DESTINATION OF MCCLELLAN AIRFIELD (KMCC). AT APPROXIMATELY 2104 HOURS PDT, 7 MILES NORTH OF MADERA MUNICIPAL AIRPORT (MAE), AIRCRAFT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ SUSTAINED A BIRD STRIKE ON THE CENTER OF THE WINDSHIELD AT APPROXIMATELY 4500 FEET, DECLARED AN EMERGENCY WITH TRACON, DIVERTED TO MADERA MUNICIPAL AIRPORT (MAE), AND LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. THE BIRD STRIKE CREATED A HOLE IN THE WINDSHIELD, APPROXIMATELY 36 INCHES BY 18 INCHES. NO INJURIES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
