## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

BASED ON PILOT'S STATEMENT, WINDS WERE TURBULENT AND GUSTY DURING LANDING. AIRCRAFT BOUNCED ONCE, AND ON SECOND LANDING, STAYED ON GROUND, BUT WITH REDUCED LANDING DISTANCE. PILOT APPLIED MAXIMUM BRAKING AND FULL ELEVATOR AS HE IS USED TO DOING.

HOWEVER, GROUND WAS SOFTER AND STICKIER THAN PILOT EXPECTED, WHICH CAUSED TIRES TO 'GRAB', RESULTING IN PROP STRIKE AND AIRCRAFT FLIPPING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR23LA151](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR23LA151), Apr 5, 2023: Lowe Bruce Skystr Ktfx IV-1200 (N1641E), Susanville, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s braking technique during an off airport precautionary landing on unforeseen soft terrain, which resulted in a nose over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
