REPORTED A BIRD STRIKE SOON AFTER DEPARTURE. ACFT RETURNED TO EFD ARPT, LANDED, AND TAXIED TO THE RAMP WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. PILOT REPORTED DAMAGE TO THE VERTICAL FAN TAIL/REAR STABILIZER. SPECIAL FLIGHT PERMIT WAS OBTAINED AND THE AIRCRAFT FLOWN TO SAN ANTONIO FOR REPAIRS.
