## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

INVESTIGATED AN AIRCRAFT ACCIDENT IN EATON OH. THAT OCCURRED ON APRIL 25,2023. THE AIRCRAFT WAS UPSIDE DOWN IN A FARM FIELD WITH THE CANOPY AND COWLING CRUSHED. THERE WAS NO ODOUR OF FUEL AND NO EVIDENCE OF FUEL SPILLAGE. DUE TO THE POSITION OF THE AIRCRAFT THE PROPELLER COULD NOT BE TURNED TO DETERMINE FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT NOR COULD THE ENGINE BE EXAMINED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS RELEASED BY THE FAA AND THE FARMER REMOVED IT FROM THE FIELD. THE NEXT DAY DURING THE RECOVERY OF THE AIRCRAFT PERSONNEL NOTICED THAT THERE WAS VERY LITTLE FUEL IN THE FUEL TANKS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA23LA208](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA23LA208), Apr 26, 2023: Vans RV6 (N327WC), Eaton, OH, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s inadequate fuel management, which resulted in a total loss of engine power due to fuel exhaustion.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
