## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

RETURNING TO HOME AIRPORT AFTER A CROSS COUNTRY FLIGHT THE PIC WAS DEMONSTRATING A SHORT FIELD LANDING TO ANOTHER PILOT ON BOARD. THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN IN THE GRASS AHEAD OF THE RUNWAY STRIKING A RUNWAY LIGHT WITH THE RIGHT FLAP BREAKING THE RUNWAY LIGHT AND TEARING A HOLE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE FLAP APPROXIMATELY 6 INCHES LONG. THE DAMAGE WAS NOT DISCOVERED POST FLIGHT, THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO ITS HANGAR. THE DAMAGE WAS FOUND SEVERAL DAYS LATER DURING A PRE-FLIGHT INSPECTION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
