## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED HE REALIZED HE LEFT THE WHEEL CHOCKS IN PLACE ON THE NOSE GEAR. SET THE PARKING BRAKE AND EXITED THE AIRCRAFT TO REMOVE THEM. PULLED THE CHOCK FREE FROM THE REAR OF THE TIRE AND THEN GAVE THE FRONT CHOCK A QUICK SNAP STRAIGHT BACK PARRALLEL TO THE ARC OF THE PROPELLER. THE FRONT PART OF THE TIED TOGETHER CHOCK SHOT FORWARD AND INTO THE PROPELLER WHICH CAUGHT THE CHOCK SET AND PULLED THE PILOTS ARM INTO THE PROPELLER ARC.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN23LA186](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN23LA186), May 6, 2023: Beech F33A (N2294L), Tahlequah, OK, minor damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to remove the wheel chocks before engine start which resulted in the inadvertent contact with the propeller while the engine was running.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
