## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 05/13/2023 AT APPROXIMATELY 15:40 LOCAL TIME, DURING TAKEOFF ROLL, THE AIRCRAFT ROTATED AT A SLOWER THAN NORMAL AIRSPEED AND ENTERED AN APPARENT STALL AT APPROXIMATELY 30-50 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND. THE AIRCRAFT BANKED SHARPLY TO THE RIGHT AND STRUCK THE GROUND, COMING TO REST IN THE GRASS AREA BETWEEN RUNWAY 26 AND THE ADJACENT TAXIWAY. THE AIRCRAFT WAS DESTROYED AND A POST-IMPACT FIRE ENSUED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN23LA184](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN23LA184), May 13, 2023: Rans S7 (N8932L), Gardner, KS, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s exceedance of the airplane’s critical angle of attack during the takeoff, which resulted in an aerodynamic stall and loss of airplane control at too low of an altitude to recover.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
