## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON FLIGHT FROM MKG TO ORD, INBOUND FOR ORD THE PIC WAS ATTEMPTING A SHORT FIELD LANDING AIMING TO TOUCH DOWN ON THE NUMBERS IN ORDER TO MAKE AN EARLY EXIT OFF THE RUNWAY.

PILOTS WERE UNAWARE OF HITTING A REIL LIGHT UNTILL THERE WAS A VIDEO POSTED TO WWW.YOURTUBE.COM FROM A AIRPLANE SPOTTER AT THE AIRPORT. ONCE THE PILOT HEARD OF THE VIDEO HE CALLED MANAGMENT.

NO DAMAGE WAS DONE TO THE AIRCRAFT. AIRCRAFT WAS INSPECTED AND SIGNED OFF BY MAINTENACFE ON 5/19/2023.

PILOT STATED THAT FOLLWOING AS CONTRIBUTING FACTORS:

-ORD ATC LIKES THEM TO COME IN BEST FORWARD SPEED AND WANTED THEM TO EXIT RUNWAY QUICKLY - DECISOIN FOR SHORTFIEL LANDING

-POOR DECISION MAKING ON PIC CHOOSING TO AIM AT SUCH AND EALRY POINT ON THE RUNWAY -- 1000 FOOT MARKERS WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER

AIR CARRIER SENT OUT EMPHAIS MEMO TO ALL PILOTS IN REGARD TO STABLE APPROACH

POI PROVIDED COUNSLEING TO 119 MANGAMENT STATING: IN ADDITION TO THE STEPS THAT YOU HAVE ALREADY TAKEN, WILL YOU PLEASE ALSO ENSURE THAT ALL GROUND INSTRUCTORS, FLIGHT INSTRUCTORS AND CHECKAIRMAN STRESS THE IMPORTANCE OF A STABLE APPROACH AND NOT ALLOWING ATC TO RUSH YOU IN ALL THEIR TRAINING AND CHECKING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
