## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT REPORTED THAT AFTER PART 137 OPERATIONS, HE LANDED, AND DISCOVERED WHAT APPEARED TO BE GUNSHOT DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT INBOARD FLAP. THE AIRCRAFT WAS INSPECTED ON 05/22/2023 AT PRATTVILLE AIRPORT. THE DAMAGE WAS CONSISTENT WITH WHATS BELIEVED TO BE A 12 GUAGE SHOTGUN SLUG. NO OTHER DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT WAS EVIDENT. AN ENTRY HOLE WAS OBSERVED ON THE LOWER SIDE OF THE FLAP AND A CORRESPONDING EXIT HOLE WAS ADJACENT ON THE UPPER SIDE OF THE FLAP. INCIDENT HAS BEEN REFERRED TO FAA ASH AND FBI FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
