## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT DRAGGED THE TAIL OF THE AIRCRAFT 3 TIMES ON GRASS RUNWAY PRIOR TO ROTATION AND AFTER ROTATION DID NOT STAY IN GROUND EFFECT TO BUILD AIRSPEED FOR CLIMBOUT. THE AIRCRAFT STALLED JUST AFTER TAKEOFF AND SPUN INTO THE TREES TO THE LEFT OF THE RUNWAY. AIRCRAFT CAUGHT ON FIRE AND WAS DESTROYED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA23LA240](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA23LA240), May 21, 2023: Cessna R182 (N182LG), Macon, NC, destroyed, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to properly set the elevator trim before takeoff, which resulted in a loss of control during takeoff.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
