## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

STUDENT PILOT ON SOLO FLIGHT. STUDENT PERFORMED TWO LANDINGS TO FULL STOP. ON THIRD LANDING STUDENT STATED THAT EVERYTHING FELT NORMAL BUT DURING THE ROLLOUT THE AIRCRAFT TURNED LEFT AND DEPARTED THE RUNWAY. STUDENT STATED THAT HE APPLIED RIGHT RUDDER, BUT THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED TO THE LEFT. ONCE HE WAS IN THE GRASS, HE DISCONTINUED THE CORRECTIVE INPUTS AND CONTINUED STRAIGHT AHEAD. AFTER HE STOPPED AND WAS CLEARED BY CONTROL, HE TAXIED THE AIRCRAFT BACK TO THE RUNUP AREA. STUDENT REPORTED THAT THE AIRCRAFT TAXIED NORMALLY.

INSPECTION OF AIRCRAFT SHOWED CONTROL CONTINUITY. CONTROLS WERE SMOOTH WITH FULL RANGE OF MOVEMENT. CONTROL SURFACES MOVED APPROPRIATELY WITH THE CONTROLS. NOSE WHEEL STEERING RESPONDED APPROPRIATELY TO RUDDER PEDAL MOVEMENT. BRAKES DID NOT APPEAR TO BE STICKING AND THE AIRCRAFT ROLLED FREELY. AIRCRAFT TIRES SHOWED NO SIGNS OF SKIDDING. THE TIPS OF THE PROPELLER WERE SLIGHTLY CURLED FROM CONTACT WITH THE TAXIWAY WHICH APPEARED TO HAPPEN AS HE WAS TAXIING BACK ON TO THE TAXIWAY.

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19790928049799I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19790928049799I), Sep 28, 1979: Cessna 172N (N1507E), Stuttgart, AR. Engine failed with application of power for touch and go. Cause was magneto, bendix D4RN2021, points burned up.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
