## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JUNE 4, 2023, ABOUT 1030 LOCAL TIME, THE PIC OF THE PA18 WAS MAKING A LANDING ALONG THE BANK OF THE SUSITNA RIVER DELTA. THE PIC LANDED THE AIRCRAFT ON A CLEARING APPROXIMATELY MID FIELD AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. THE TERRAIN WAS VERY DEEP SAND YET SOFT. THE TERRAIN ADDED AN UNEXPECTED FRICTION FACTOR OF DECELARATION, ALONG WITH THE PIC ACCOMPLISHING HARD BREAKING CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO PITCH FORWARD; THUS STRIKING THE PROP AND TURNING THE AIRCRAFT OVER ONTO ITS BACK.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
