## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JUNE 8, 2023, AFTER FILLING THE FUEL TANKS OF THE AIRPLANE AT THE SELF SERVICE FUEL STATION AT BEND MUNICIPAL AIRPORT (BDN), THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO TAXI THE PLANE AWAY FROM THE FUEL STATION TOWARDS THE TAXIWAY AND THEN RUNWAY FOR DEPARTURE. DURING THIS ACTION THE PILOT ALLOWED THE PLANE'S LEFT WING TIP TO CONTACT THE FUEL STATION STRUCTURE CAUSING A BREACH IN THE TANK FOLLOWED BY A SUBSEQUENT FIRE. THE PILOT AND HIS PASSENGER WERE ABLE TO EXIT THE AIRCRAFT WITHOUT INJURY. A MAJORITY OF THE LEFT WING AND FUESLAGE WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED BY THE FIRE BEFORE THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS ABLE TO SUPRESS THE FLAMES.
