## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT WAS DISTRACTED BY ANOTHER AIRCRAFT ARRIVING BEFORE HIS ARRIVAL. THE PILOT STATED ON A PHONE CONVERSATION THAT IT WAS NIGHT TIME AND HE COULD NOT SEE THE OTHER AIRCRAFT. HE SAID THAT HE EXECUTED A 360 DEGREE TURN TO ALLOW SPACING. HE WAS STILL LOOKING FOR THE OTHER AIRCRAFT WHEN HE WAS ON FINAL AND FORGOT TO PUT THE GEAR DOWN. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED SIGNIFICANCT DAMAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE FUSELAGE AS WELL AS THE PROPELLER. THE PILOT SAID THAT THE ENGINE WAS OPERATING NORMALLY AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR23LA234](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR23LA234), Jun 10, 2023: Cessna P210N (N4761A), Olivehurst, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to extend the landing gear before landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
