## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JUNE 12TH, 2023, AT 1340 LOCAL TIME, VTE510, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, WAS CONDUCTING A LOCAL MAINTENANCE FLIGHT TO CHECK THE LANDING GEAR FUNCTION AT KMDH. DURING THE 3RD TAKEOFF OF THE FLIGHT, THE CREW RECEIVED AN ENGINE 1 FIRE WARNING WHEN THE POWER WAS ADVANCED. THE TAKEOFF WAS REJECTED, AND THE IMMEDIATE ACTION ITEMS WERE PERFORMED, INCLUDING DISCHARGING THE ENGINE FIRE BOTTLE. THE QRH WAS RAN. THE WARNING CONTINUED, AND THE SECOND BOTTLE WAS DISCHARGED. AN EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED AND ARFF RESPONDED TO THE SCENE. THE AIRCRAFT WAS EVACUATED. UPON ARFF'S ARRIVAL, THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF FIRE. THE ONLY INDIVIDUALS ON BOARD WERE THE CAPTAIN AND FIRST OFFICER. AFTER TROUBLESHOOTING PER EMB AMM (26-11-03) AND EMB FIM (26-11-00), IT WAS CONCLUDED THAT ENGINE 1 FIRE CONTROL MODULE WAS DEFECTIVE. THIS UNIT WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
