## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE LOSS OF CONTROL ON LANDING ROLL OUT WAS DUE TO THE FAILURE TO USE PROPER/ENOUGH CROSSWIND CONTROL OF THE 10 KNOT DIRECT CROSSWIND DURING THE LANDING TOUCHDOWN AND ROLL OUT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN23LA251](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN23LA251), Jun 21, 2023: Cessna 180 (N3127C), Osceola, IA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control of the tailwheel equipped airplane during a crosswind landing.

## Other reports on N3127C (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19791130045469I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19791130045469I), Nov 30, 1979: Cessna 180 (N3127C), Rock Springs, WY, Minor damage. During takeoff roll in crosswind on ice covered runway, aircraft uncontrollably veered left, ground looped.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
