## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT DEPARTED FROM DEER PARK, WA FOR CLEAR LAKE, WA (SPOKANE COUNTY). UPON ARRIVAL IN THE AREA OF CLEAR LAKE, THE PILOT WAS CONDUCTING SURVEILLANCE OF THE LAKE FOR LANDING. THE PILOT DETERMINED A LOCATION TO LAND BASED ON WINDS AND BOAT TRAFFIC. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE WAS FOCUSED ON THE BOAT TRAFFIC AND DID NOT ACCOMPLISH HIS "BEFORE LANDING" CHECKLIST. THE PILOT LANDED ON THE WATER WITH THE LANDING GEAR IN THE DOWN POSITION (AMPHIBIOUS FLOATS). THE AIRCRAFT FLIPPED FORWARD DURING TOUCHDOWN AND CAME TO REST UPSIDE-DOWN. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE. NO INJURIES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
