## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JUNE 24, 2023, THE STUDENT AND INSTRUCTOR WERE CONDUCTING AN INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT IN A COMPLEX, HIGH PERFORMANCE CESSNA R-182. AFTER SEVERAL FLIGHTS AROUND THE TRAFFIC PATTERN, THE INSTRUCTOR SUGGESTED A TOUCH AND GO LANDING. UPON SUCCESSFUL TOUCHDOWN, THE INSTRUCTOR TOLD THE STUDENT TO "RAISE THE FLAPS AND ADD FULL POWER" TO TAKE OFF. THE STUDENT'S HAND WENT TO THE LANDING GEAR LEVER AND INADVERTANTLY RAISED THE GEAR LEVER. THE INSTRUCTOR ADDED FULL POWER AND TRIED TO RAISE THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT BUT WAS UNABLE TO BEFORE THE PROPELLER CONTACTED THE GROUND. THE AIRCRAFT SLID TO A STOP ON THE RUNWAY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE STUDENT OR INSTRUCTOR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
