## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MONDAY JUNE 26TH, 2023 PILOT WAS SOLE OCCUPANT AND PILOT IN COMMAND OF AIRCRAFT THAT DEPARTED MERRILL FIELD IN ANCHORAGE TO VIEW GLACIER AT AIALIK BAY, SOUTH OF SEWARD.

AFTER WEATHER BRIEFING, PILOT DEPARTED HEADING SOUTH TO POTTER'S MARSH WAYPOINT AND THEN SE FLYING ALONG THE SOUTH SHORE OF TURNAGAIN ARM TO SNIPERS POINT.

AT APPROMIATELY NOON PILOT FLEW OVER SEWARD. FROM SEWARD PILOT FLEW DOWN COAST TO AIALIK BAY AND TURNED UP TO BAY TOWARD GLACIER. PILOT DID DO A FLY OVER PASS BUT KEPT A DISTANCE DUE TO SEVERAL TOUR VESSELS AND KAYAKERS NEAR LANDING AREA. PILOT DID NOT ATTEMPT ANOTHER OVERLOOK BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO LAND. ON TOUCHDOWN THE NOSEWHEEL STRUCK A LARGE ROCK AND AIRCRAFT WAS DAMAGED TO THE AMOUNT OF NON-AIRWORTHY. ELT WAS ACTIVATED BUT TURNED OFF AFTER PILOT REALIZED HE WAS NOT INJURED. AFTER SECURING AIRCRAFT, PILOT RECIEVED A RIDE TO SEWARD WHERE AUTHORITES WERE MET.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
