## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING A NIGHT APPROACH TO SILOAM SPRINGS, AR (KSLG) RUNWAY 18 THE ACCIDENT AIRCRAFT DESCENDED BELOW A SAFE GLIDE PATH APPROXIMATELY 1.1 MILES FROM THE END OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK AN ELECTRICAL POWER CABLE DAMAGING THE PROPELLER, WING LEADING EDGES, OUTBOARD TRAILING EDGE OF THE LEFT FLAP, AND CUTTING THE RUDDER COMPLETELY IN A CHORDWISE DIRECTION. THE PILOT WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE THE APPROACH TO RUNWAY 18 AND MAKE A SUCCESSFUL LANDING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN23LA271](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN23LA271), Jun 30, 2023: Cessna 172N (N739GU), Siloam Springs, AR, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain clearance from power lines while on final approach to land.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
