## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRMAN WAS PERFORMING A FLIGHT FOR AN AIR AMBULANCE COMPANY. AFTER A DROP-OFF AT THE DEER VALLEY AIRPORT (KDVT), THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO ITS HOME BASE WITH A FUEL STOP AT BLYTHE, CA. THE AIRMAN WAS ALERTED TO AN OVERSPEED CONDITION AND THE AIRMAN DECIDED TO ENTER AN AUTOROTATIONAL PROFILE, RAPID DESCENT TO LANDING. THE ENGINES WERE NOT RETARDED TO IDLE OR OFF. THE AIRMAN CONTINUED THE DESCENT TO AN ABRUPT LANDING. THE AIRCRAFT REMAINED UPRIGHT. THE AIRMAN PERFORMED AN EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN AND THE CREW EXITED THE AIRCRAFT WITH NO INJURIES. THE AIRCRAFT WAS RECOVERED BY THE CERTIFICATE HOLDER AND ANALYSIS WAS PERFORMED ON THE AIRCRAFT. THE NTSB HAS NOT YET DETERMINED THE SEVERITY OF THE INCIDENT. SHOULD THE SEVERITY BE DETERMINED TO BE AN ACCIDENT, AN AMENDMENT TO THIS REPORT WILL BE SUBMITTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
